"Ode to Laundry"

Well, I guess you can't really call it and "Ode" now,
can you?
Doesn't the word "Ode" mean something like,
"In joyful memory of?"
Or something like that?
Personally,
I don't find laundry joyful.

Well, as you can tell, that's what I'm doing today...
laundry.
I put all of my clothes at my apartment into a couple of hampers
and carted them to my parents house.
(thank you Mom and Dad for the free use of your machines! :D )
Everyone is always telling me that I have WAY too many clothes
that I never wear
,
and until now, I didn't agree with them.
But I've realized during this particular laundry expedition,
in which I've decided to wash
every piece of clothing I have that isn't already clean,
that they just may be right...

Well, I've decided to put an end to it.
I don't want to have all these clothes that I never wear,
it's just hard to let go sometimes, you know?
Like to that little sweater/jacket that your sure
will look cute someday

if you can just find the right shirt to go under it,
so you can't let go of it
because you're holding out hope for it.
Got anything like that?
I'm determined to get rid of most of mine like that today.
Thank goodness for the D.I.!
I'd feel awful if I had to just throw them all away!

I feel exactly the same. I hold onto clothes forever, because I am sure that someday I will need it or want to wear it. Also, when I decide to get rid of something Chris always tells me to throw it away, but I have such a hard time throwing a perfectly good piece of clothing away and so unless it has holes or a huge stain, I always donate it; then D.I. can worry about it and it is out of my hands! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for finally blogging! When are you going to blog about your boyfriend?

Thanks for personally reading your blog to me since the font showed up in symbols on my computer for some reason.

Thanks for doing all of your laundry (you're welcome for the use of the machines, water, detergent and dryer sheets) and for finally going through all of your clothes.

Thank you for all you do to help me! You're a peach (as you like to say)!

Now I think my comment is almost as long as your post!

Lol, yes Nanny, thank goodness for D.I. Someone might be able to get some use out of it, right? :) Let me know if you're thinking about getting rid of any of your clothes soon. Remember, little sisters are the step before D.I. ;) ha ha!

And to Mom:
-Maybe my next blog can be about tomorrow with Will in Salt Lake :D
-I probably slaughtered my blog trying to read it to you, but I'm just glad you got to "read it" :)
-It took me all day, but I finally washed all of my clothes! I got all of the hang up ones hung up, now I've just got to shove the rest into my drawer and a half!
-I think that YOU are the peach.
-And yes, your comment was long but I LOVE them that way! I love you!

okay, I guess the rest of you didn't get this, but your blog showed up in like wing-ding symbols instead of words!!! crazy!

That's crazy! That happened to my mom too, but not Nanette and I. I have no idea why it did that :( Thanks for trying to check out my blog though :)

I think I have two shirts in my closet that I actually wear. I can't get rid of anything. Will you come and go through my stuff? Maybe we could just trade.
